About this Telmex Speed Test
Telmex provides Broadband Internet internet in Mexico. This page tests your current connection by measuring download speed, upload speed, ping and jitter - whether you are on fiber, cable, DSL, fixed wireless, or mobile data.
What is a good Telmex speed?
Compare your result to your plan, not to ads. If you pay for 100 Mbps and a wired test shows 90 or more, your line is fine - the gap is usually WiFi. If wired tests stay far below your plan at different times of day, talk to Telmex.
- Download & upload
- Download speed is how fast data comes in - streaming, browsing, updates. Upload speed is how fast data goes out - video calls, cloud backups. Both are measured in Mbps, megabits per second.
- Ping & jitter
- Ping is the delay before data starts moving, in milliseconds. Low ping means a snappier connection - it matters most for gaming and video calls. Jitter is how much your ping jumps around. Steady beats jumpy.
- How to get an accurate result
- Use a cable if you can, pause other downloads, and run the test twice. Wi-Fi almost always reads lower than a wired test.
Telmex speed test: FAQs
- How do I test my Telmex internet speed?
- Press GO above. The test measures your download speed, upload speed, ping, and jitter in about 10 seconds. For the truest number, use an Ethernet cable if you can, close other downloads, and run it twice.
- What is a good Telmex speed test result?

- Why is my Telmex speed slower than my plan?
- Most of the time it is the Wi-Fi, not the line. Where your router sits, how old your devices are, how many are connected at once, and busy evening hours all pull the number down. Plug a cable straight into the router and test again - if that is fast and Wi-Fi is not, your Wi-Fi is the bottleneck.
- Does this test work if I am not a Telmex customer?
- Yes. It tests whatever connection you are on right now - your provider does not matter. We show the provider we detect under the test panel.
- How does provider detection work on this page?
- When the page loads, we look up your IP address to guess your internet provider and show it under the test panel. It never blocks the test, and nothing personal is stored. Your results stay in your own browser.
